Atomiser Testing

The Rok Star Atomiser
As regular visitors to this site will know, I am a very keen Dekang PG RY4 vaper, infact I have one Rok Star (a custom silver 900Mah version) that is used everyday, all day solely for 'puffing on the Golden ambrosia'. Since receiving my pre-order Rok Star I have used the same atomiser continuously for vaping DK RY4, I hope that this in some way will help us find the 'average' lifespan of a Rok Star atomiser.
Below is a Diary of atomiser #1's performance so far;

Installed atomiser 24/11/2011
Dry Burn 17/12/2011

Atomiser #1 126 Days (29/03/2012)

Finally, as all good things have a tendency to do, it is now over. The atomiser's performance has now dwindled to a state that is below par although it's still producing (albeit a slightly reduced amount) vapour, the flavour has now become completely muted and even with an extensive dry burn and a good vodka bath it has got to the point of being beyond saving.
  As with all experiments; if an experiment is worth doing, it's worth doing twice, so I shall install a brand new atomiser into my RY4 Rok Star today (30/03/2012) and start all over again.........

Below is a diary of atomiser #2's performance so far;

Installed atomiser 30/03/2012
Dry Burn 30/04/2012
Dry Burn 16/05/2012 (burnt out !!!)

Atomiser #2 Daily Counter 46 days (16/05/2012)

Unfortunately the atomiser completely burnt out whilst attempting to give it a dry burn. Still 46 days on one atomiser is still pretty good going, although not as good as 126 days (with the previous atomiser).

Please note: This is only based on the use of Dekang RY4 (70%PG/30%VG mix) at 24mg in the Rok Star, the findings are in no way a safe 'Rule of thumb' for using with other E-Liquids, by different manufacturers, in differing mg strengths and various percentages of PG to VG in pre-mixed bases.
