The history of RY4

Ruyan blend #4 E-Liquid was originally made by Chang Ning Dekang Biological Technology Co. for Ruyan Group Limited. The blend name 'Ruyan' is commonly shortened to just RY, with the blend number being placed straight after it, thus 'Ruyan blend #4' becomes just RY4.

Dekang defines the RY series as so (modified slightly, for better translation);

RY1: Very subtle mixture of Tobacco aromas
RY2: Taste dry tobacco, raw, with no sweet aftertaste
RY3: Exceptional blend of tobaccos, slightly sweet taste quite indescribable
RY4: Tobacco blend with the trends of caramel and vanilla

The RY4 flavour became an instant hit, and every E-Liquid manufacturer and DIY Vaper setting out to re-create this incredibly complex E-Liquid flavour.

RY4... Among most vapers RY4 is considered a mythical legend, with its foggy history & hundreds of variations. There are even rumours of a delusional chemist hiding out in a cave somewhere in the mountains of China, clenched in his fist was the stolen recipe of the 'real RY4', so overcome and dizzy from the aroma that not even in the face of his impending death, would he let go of it.

(Okay You got Me, so maybe that last part was made up, but you get the basics on how important & mysterious RY4 is).

Flavour:
For an E-Liquid to be classed as RY4 it must contain all of the three main ingredients; They are Tobacco, Caramel and Vanilla. But just because it has those ingredients does not make it RY4, as an example - the materials needed to make a Ferrari are basically the same as you need to make a Fiat, BUT you would never say that a Fiat is a ferrari, would you ? Yet it is made of the same stuff, roughly, ish, sort of....

The Holy Grail.
The great variety of RY4 flavours are a result of the many different proportions/ratios of the three main ingredients, but as always the original is still the best, so if somebody asks you,"What ya vaping ?", remember that there is only ONE RY4 and that is manufactured by Dekang, anything else is just a poor imitation and most times, a very 'expensive' poor imitation at that ! So, if it isn't Dekang RY4, just tell them,"it's some sort of caramel tobacco with a hint of vanilla".
My everyday, all day vape is Dekang RY4, this is because I love the taste and I'm a purist (and a perfectionist), that's why I have a Rok Star Electronic cigarette and fill it with the amber nectar that is Dekang RY4.......anything else is just inconceivable.

UPDATE: There is also a RY-Hi5, named after a pioneering vaper from England, who goes by the handle 'HiFiStud'. Working closely with Dekang they have made this new flavour sweeter than RY4, with a supposedly deeper, richer character. Unfortunately, as of now, I have been unable to try this blend so I cannot comment further BUT that may change.......watch this space !

  1. Hey dude, 24 mg must be a killer. I started on 12 mg with ego Tank, and went down decrementally to 6mg with Clearomizer (aka Helix) with ease. Helix is miracle and it is rebuildable. Don't you get dizzy sometimes? How much (ml) do you vape daily?

    Btw. good reviews, thanks man! I always wondered what they put into RY4 as I could not identify the components one by one :) Makes sense now.
